How We Work

Our Methodology

Every engagement at Pikul Legal follows the same sequence: understand first, then advise, then act — and never the other way around. We do not begin preparing documentation before we have a thorough grasp of the client's situation, and we do not recommend a course of action before discussing what alternatives exist and what each involves.

The initial consultation is where the process begins for most clients. It is designed to be a calm, unhurried appointment in which we listen, ask questions, and review whatever documents the client has available. At the end, the client receives a written summary — a record of the discussion and a measured view of available options. No further commitment is required at that stage.

Where a client decides to proceed to a recalculation request or a disability pension submission, we manage the full preparation process — from document review through to submission — and keep the client informed at each stage.

The appointment begins with questions and careful attention to the documents and circumstances the client presents.

Summarise and Advise

A written summary follows every first appointment, setting out the situation and the options available for the client's consideration.

Prepare and Submit

Where the client wishes to proceed, we manage the full preparation of requests or submissions, keeping the client informed throughout.

Follow Through

We remain available for questions during the review period and communicate any developments from the administering authority.

Initial Pension Consultation

A first appointment in which we take time to understand your pension situation and the concerns that have brought you to seek counsel. We listen, ask clarifying questions, and review any documents you have brought. The appointment closes with a written summary of the matters discussed and a measured view of the paths available.

No further commitment is required at the close of this appointment. The summary belongs to you to consider in your own time, and there is no pressure to proceed with any of the options outlined.

Pension Recalculation Request Preparation

Preparation of a formal request for recalculation of pension benefits, including detailed review of contribution records, identification of periods that may not have been properly credited, and drafting of the request submission. We also prepare the supporting documentation pack and advise on what to expect during the review period.

This service is appropriate for clients who, following an initial consultation, have decided they wish to pursue a formal recalculation of their pension determination with the administering authority.
